Our Position
Sports Betting Is Entertainment First
Otis Edge provides sports picks from five experienced analysts. We publish transparent results, explain our methodology publicly, and teach a structured unit-based bankroll system. What we do not do is make the decision to bet for you, tell you how much to wager, or in any way facilitate placing a wager.
Every subscriber is responsible for their own betting decisions — including whether to bet at all. Sports betting can be an enjoyable, disciplined activity for millions of adults. It can also become a serious problem. The information on this page exists so you can recognize warning signs early and find qualified help quickly.
Otis Edge is for entertainment purposes only. You must be 21 years of age or older to subscribe.
Know the Signs
Warning Signs of Problem Gambling
The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) identifies the following as common indicators of gambling-related harm. If any of these apply to you or someone close to you, resources are available below.
- ⚠️Gambling with money needed for essential expenses (rent, bills, food)
- ⚠️Chasing losses — betting more to recover money lost in a previous session
- ⚠️Lying to family, friends, or employers about gambling activity or losses
- ⚠️Inability to stop or reduce gambling despite repeated attempts
- ⚠️Gambling to escape stress, anxiety, depression, or other emotional difficulties
- ⚠️Borrowing money or selling possessions to fund gambling
- ⚠️Neglecting work, school, or family responsibilities because of gambling
- ⚠️Feeling restless or irritable when attempting to cut back
- ⚠️Preoccupation with gambling: reliving past bets, planning the next session, thinking about ways to get money to gamble
- ⚠️Risking or losing significant relationships, employment, or educational opportunities due to gambling

Self-Exclusion Programs
Every state that has legalized sports betting is required to provide a self-exclusion program — a formal process that lets you voluntarily restrict your own access to sports-betting platforms for a set period (often 1 year, 5 years, or lifetime). Self-exclusion is free, confidential, and a recognized tool for regaining control.
How to self-exclude: Contact the gaming control board in your state, or use the self-exclusion feature built into your sportsbook's app or website. Most licensed operators in the U.S. are required by law to honor self-exclusion requests.
The NCPG maintains a state-by-state directory of self-exclusion programs and problem gambling councils. Visit ncpgambling.org/state-affiliate-directory to find the agency in your state.
If you use a sportsbook app and need to apply a spend limit, deposit limit, or cooling-off period immediately, go to the account settings or responsible gaming section within that app — licensed operators are required to make these controls accessible.
Stay Disciplined
Bankroll Management as a Foundation
One of the most effective structural tools for keeping gambling within safe limits is a defined bankroll management system. Setting a dedicated bankroll — a fixed amount of money you are prepared to lose entirely — and sizing every bet as a fraction of that bankroll removes the temptation to chase losses and keeps any single losing streak from causing serious financial harm.
The Otis Edge unit system is designed with this discipline in mind. Units (1–5) represent a percentage of your total bankroll, not a dollar amount, so the system scales proportionally to whatever budget you set. A subscriber with a $500 bankroll and a subscriber with a $5,000 bankroll follow exactly the same rules.
We strongly encourage every subscriber to read our unit system guide before acting on any pick — even if you have been betting for years. Structural discipline is not a sign of inexperience; it is the foundation of every professional bettor's long-term approach.
